This revolver started out as a Siles import, probably a kit. It is an Italian .44 "Navy" but there were no manufacturer's marks, date or proof marks. I filed and sanded away all of the rust and mill marks that were on the gun, then sent it off to Todd Watts for work. As a sort of experiment, Todd asked if he could engrave the Schneider & Glassick text on the barrel, copying this gun: Confederate Revolver Schneider & Glassick for sale (gunsinternational.com). Todd also stamped the frame and gave the gun an imaginary serial number, 4. (The original serial number from whomever manufactured this gun is still visible on the frame and barrel.) The brass was also poorly finished, so it has been filed and lightly polished and the steel is cold-blued to maintain an older-looking patina; the grip varnish is untouched. This is a .44 and clearly couldn't be an original so there is no effort to deceive. This was just a fun project for both Todd and me.
I only shot this once. I've cleaned and oiled the bore, so while it is fairly clean it may still have some very minor rust from it's earlier life. I can't take a good photo of it but if anyone needs to see it I'll try. The action seems fine to me, but I admit I have little experience and I'm no gunsmith. I make no promises about the "shootability."
I would like to pass this on to someone who might be interested in using it for a Confederate soldier impression. Where I live no one is into Civil War stuff, so I'm listing it here hoping there might be takers.
$275 including shipping and insurance. CONUS only, please. Payment by postal money order or personal check, will ship when check clears, etc. etc.
