People,
I came across the attached brass scope for very little $$$ and wanted to ask if there’s replicated hardware available to mount this to the side of a British Enfield/Whitworth muzzleloading rifle? I was hoping it MIGHT be a Davidson scope but I don’t think it is. It’s missing one end too. I’d like to see if I can use that scope to my advantage for longer shots.

I found a post from another forum where a set was offered for sale but I can’t find the original machinist or maker. Does anyone out there know of a source?

Thank you for any help,
James

Bill Blalock & Tim Ragland were making repo’s side mounts on PH Whitworth’s in the early 2000’s.
They were from GA and attended a few LRML matches at Oak Ridge, TN.
There wasn’t enough interest apparently for them to continue.

Thank you for those contacts! I'll see if I can find them online...
....and coincidentally, I resemble that sharpshooter only my hair is a little more grey and the soles of my bootees aren't quite as flat!

Cheers,
James

If my memory is right ( it usually isn't any better than my spelling). The Log Cabin used to have tube sights and mounts. Whitetail had one mounted on his Springfield.

By blind luck, I came across this rifle in my original source book by William Davis.

The caption states “British Whitworth Patent Rifle w/telescopic sight. I’ve never seen this rifle referenced anywhere. It obviously looks to be cut down or was it....???
