During hunting season last fall my Traditions' Kentucky in .45 cal fell out of my tree stand. The wrist split and I was only going to repair the split with some rods but decided to try my hand at making a rifle from scratch. I had only ever done the Kits. One in Flint and one in Percussion. The only parts I reused were the Barrel and the Trigger. Everything else was just parts I had ordered. So I started with a precarve stock not inletted for a lock. Tried to stick to a rifle built by Frederick Sheetz from my area. Just loosely based to the best of my abilities.

That fall from the deer stand might have been a blessing in disguise. Looks good.

So! When you building the next one :hatsoff: . An artist should never only paint one picture or build one gun. DANNY

I actually went with the L&R Manton lock, good eye.I know it's a smaller lock but it had the plate shape I was looking for.
