My second hunt will probably take place in January 2025 in Texas. I know of a ranch that offers hunting for “Trophy Hogs”, for a reasonable rate. I was there in 2019 and took a 200 lbs hog with a 44 mag handgun. Exciting to say the least.
For this hunt, I plan on using a TC renagade in 54 cal. I want to shoot either a maxiball or a No Excuses conical. I have all summer to find the right load for my rifle.
Biggest reason for this part of my Quest, is bullet performance. I want to take either a full frontal shot, to see what kind of penetration I get. Or a quartering shot throughout the shoulder shield, and shoulder joint to reach vitals. This should be interesting.
