Pedersoli Flintlock Le Page Target Pistol
This is one of the .45 Caliber Smoothbore Target Models. Like new bore condition. Actual bore diameter is more like .470 Very rare to see one of these, and this one is in nice shape. It has a few small rust spots from storage on the browned barrel. I don't think it's been shot much if at all, the frizzen doesn't show much wear and I suspect it's just from dry fire. Single set trigger is fantastic as you would expect, rear sight in tang is elevation adjustable, hand carved forend. These really are on another level from the base model percussion Le Page.

Beautiful pistol. But the fact it is a smoothbore befuddles me. Why no rifled? I'll guess it is from the days of dueling and rifling was not allowed.

Smoothbore pistols can be incredibly accurate.

NEVER underestimate them at least at closer ranges. They can cloverleaf out to 10m IF it’s a good gun and more importantly, the user has tailored a load for it and most importantest of all, the user is skilled in marksmanships.

An old Pedersoli smoothbore Harper’s Ferry pistol was one of the most accurate I’ve ever shot.
