All of the above sound OK to me. When I've got lots of time, am trying to achieve maximum accuracy, or working up a new load, I swab the bore out wet (water, soapy water, houshold or specific bore cleaners, waterless hand cleaner,...) and then dry. In my eyes, cleanliness and consistency are the name of the game. The first shot for a hunter is the most important and often only one. I don't like to track cripples, and instantly killed game puts better meat on the table. :v It's also more humane.
