I need a hammer for an antique Golcher lock I'm working on. The throw is 1 5/8” and the square hole is just under 1/4"

The hammer TOTW lists for their Golcher lock has the correct dimensions, but the square hole differs 45° in rotation.

If you have a RH hammer with a 1 5/8” throw that looks like it might match, or you would be able to braze this one back together, I would be happy to hear from you.

Thanks!

Is that off an original Golcher lock? I have at least one spare hammer, will see if I can locate it. Do you have a way of measuring the square hole accurately? As 2 shots says, have it TIG welded back together.

Yes sir, it’s an original marked Joseph Golcher.

Yes sir I have a set of dial calipers.

I had a local welding shop weld up a broken thumb piece on a shotgun hammer a couple of months ago. After I dressed it up it looks good. Cost was $20 cash. I’m happy.
