Help Support Muzzleloading Forum:
No wad, lube in grooves, but no lub in hollow base.
Yes, use an over powder wad to prevent damage to the base of the bullet and eliminate, or at least cut down on leading.
Never put anything between the powder and a mini. It inhibits expansion of the skirt to take the rifling and can be driven into the cavity to ride all the way to the target. With a solid base projectile a wad is a great way to go.
