I live in Northern Virginia in Fairfax County due to work, and believe me if it wasn't for work I wouldn't step foot in this county. Whenever I shoot, or hunt, I go home to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, but hopefully I can get into some hunting spots here in the county.
I don‘t blame you! I grew up in NoVa (heard of Vienna?) and went to High School in Arlington. Where I lived there used to be nothing but fields and horse farms. When I went back recently it had totally changed and was basically a concrete jungle. Ugh.
Eastern Shore of Maryland is beautiful! I don’t normally get up that far but I used to live in Norfolk so would cross the tunnel and go to Chincoteague, Cape Charles all the time. You are so lucky!
As for hunting in NoVa…. I don’t know about that! Might want to travel a little ways down to the Northern Neck area, or SW Va. Anyway I live in WV now, plenty of hunting/shooting opportunities here!

Yes I know Vienna. What a shame! All of NOVA these days is turning into a concrete jungle and it's real poopy! Thanks, I love it there and wish I could live there but that drive to work from the shore is a killer!

Yeah, the only places I have found that I can hunt on is county owned parks when they allow deer hunting. I've thought about doing that but man there are a lot of hoops to jump through. I might still pursue it slowly but I will continue to hunt on the Eastern Shore until something better comes around.

Have you heard of former Navy SEAL Don Shipley? If I’m not mistaken he has a place on the Eastern Shore where he hunts ducks etc.

Yes I have. He lives in, or around, Cambridge I believe, which is in Dorchester County, which is a GREAT place for waterfowl hunting!!! That's one of the nice things about Delmarva, you've got deer hunting but you also have waterfowl hunting and there are a lot of great places up and down the shore to hunt waterfowl! We even have a Waterfowl Festival every year on the shore.
