Hi y'all. The name is Rod. I'm from Dallas, and am new to the black powder scene. No muzzleloaders yet, but I got an 1851 confederate navy dragoon, for my last birthday. I haven't shot it yet, there are still things I need to get, but I'm looking forward to it. I am getting back into the Rendezvous scene after a nearly 20 year hiatus, but wasn't much more'n a greenhorn then. Anyway, it's good ta be here.

Watch your topknots,
Rod

Hello Rod and Welcome to the Forum!

Sounds like you have come to the right place to learn and share.

Have fun when you finally get to go out and shoot!

Welcome back. There are some folks in the Killeen/Ft Hood area that shoot I believe in Harker Heights you might try to contact that post here from time to time. So have a seat, fill yer tin cup as the coffees jest finished boiling. There is an individual by the handle of barnettshale you mite try as well.

Rod,
Good to see you here. I don't know if I can be much help but the TMLRA web site might be a good place for you to start looking for Black Powder clubs in the area. I shoot in Electra with the Red River Renegades most of the time. There is a match the last Sunday of this month (Mar 25). Match starts at 9:00. Its about 2 hours up 287. Here is the web address. http://www.redriverrenegades.com/
Some of the folks there do the rondezvous thing and I believe most of that is in Oklahoma. If you need more information send me a message.

Hi Rod, welcome from Wisconsin! Good to see you back in the game, hope the Dragoon proves to be as much fun for you as the C&B revolvers are for the rest of us.

Thanks y'all fer the kind welcome.

Yeah Barnett, I've noticed there ain't much down here. I know Southwestern Regional is actually going on now in Nocona. and there are a couple coming up, in southern OK, one of which I'm heading to next month at Ft Washita. I do know a couple of folks in the Comanche Peaks Muzzleloaders, from a group of pirate reenactors that I know from a small renfaire that I merchant at, down in Hillsboro. I will admit though that I don't get out as much as I would like. Thanks fer all the info, I do really appreciate it. I do hope that I will learn alot here. I may end up asking some questions later, about powder measures and the like since I do bone horn and antler carving, but that is fer another time and place.

Thanks again fer the kind welcome.
