This is a stunning, drop-dead gorgeous Lancaster style rifle with a mixture of influences. Dickerson style deep relief carving and a Germanic sliding wooden patchbox. Stock is a highly figured Tiger Maple that flashes greenish gold when turned under light. Minimal handling marks. LOP is 13.5". The .45 browned 42" barrel tapers from .935 to .875. Bore sharp, bright and shiny. Twist is in the 1:66+ range. Rifle weighs 9.5 lbs. Top flat engraved "D Pence '94" with the number 14 inside the D. I believe the lock is Davis (D in circle). It has an interesting copper or brass flash guard between pan and barrel. Rear sight has a serpentine base. Leading edge of front sight is serrated. Brass fittings turned aged mustard color. Missing ramrod. Not sure what this would cost to build, but a steal at $1800 + Shipping.
