I read in a '74 MuzzleBlasts about making friction primers. Has anyone tried making some?

Regards,
Pletch

We assembled our own and used them when I was a NPS ranger in 1985 at Fort Washington, Maryland. They worked fine in our 12 pounder, but there was no telling where the expended primer would be found. We filled them with 7Fg powder (looked like black flour), Goex if I recall. Fill them inside, because a little puff of wind will carry 7Fg away in a hurry.
