Deer hunting with a Mountain Howitzer! There are complete instructions, caveats and warnings!

http://www.buckstix.com/howitzer.htm
Also if you're still feeling froggy, "How about hunting feral cats with a Coehorn Mortar!"

As a responsible person, that I am, hopefully you read the enclosed as jokes and for God Sakes don't try it.

( Hopefully the Judge will have a sense of humor when he exclaims to the Game Warden, .............. "You telling me he actually shot a Deer with a Mountain Howitzer Cannon?" )

We usually have 6-10 deer at a min living here. Grape shot howitzer several down at once although if i take them in to be processed there might be some questions.

Well first, that would get the gun confiscated and carry a hefty fine, for in Maryland we are not allowed to use buckshot, nor when using a muzzleloader are we allowed to hunt dear with more than one projectile loaded. Those six hits while being impressive would end up being VERY expensive. 😦

Not to mention that's a LOT of meat that now has blood in it.... 🤢

As I recall, during the late 70s or early 80s, this story/article appeared in "Buckskin Report". Of course, ensuing issues of the magazine contained a plethora of comments in the letters to the editor section.

guess you just have to process them yourself???🍺ready aim.......fire!!!!!

I shoot modern M-198's (155mm Medium Howitzer)... I wonder what that would do to a deer!?!? Not much to eat, I bet. I'd have to have a forward observer to call in the deer's coordinates to me, though, cuz we put those 95 lb high explosive rounds out there quite a few miles.
