Does anybody really know how many there were.

I read all kinds of ads for used CVA or T/C guns claiming barrels were made by Douglas, Sharon and others? In the case of CVA there's made in USA barrels, barrels without forgien proof marks and those made in Spain. There are CVA Mountain Rifle models with 2 screw and 4 screw patch boxes, one made in U.S.A. the other Spain? T/C barrels are sometimes identified as being marked on a flat with a spade, Maltese cross, clubs and other symbols?

Is there a definitive way of knowing who supplied barrels to these manufacturers and/or when they produced their own barrels?

T.C used several suppliers before making their own. Records were destroyed in a fire so we will never know for sure who made what.
