I have a surplus to my needs left handed 54 cal TC Renegade barrel with some pitting issues. Been thinking about having it bored and rifled to a larger caliber. Any suggestions as to what caliber would be feasible and who would be able to do the work? Thanks!

For sure 58 caliber but maybe 62 as the Renegade barrel is one inch. You need to contact Bobby Hoyt at the Freischutz Shop, 700 Fairfield Station Rd., Fairfield, Pa. 17320. His phone # 717-642-6696 He doesn't have a website or email - you have to use the phone. Be prepared to wait for him to shut down a machine and walk to the phone - let it ring. . .He bored out a 15/16 50 hawken barrel for me to 54 .

Unless prices have changed since this summer it should cost you $125 to $150 including shipping. His work is great and she shoots fantastic. I don't think you can do any better.
