Just before I left the Pines, a great rendezvous became even better...

This piece was built by John Pollack, a wonderful gentleman and one heck of a craftsman. It's .40 cal., rifled, and balances like a dream.

The gentleman I got it from is also a friend. When I went for the first time to Whispering Pines, he and Mr. Pollack were kind to a newbie at his first rendezvous, and this piece will always be special because of the connection.

The barrel goes from octagon to sixteen flats just forward of the brass inlay.

Nice gun! Can we see a more top-showing photo of that barrel? It seems even sweeter than can be seen well here.

Very beautifully done! I'm quite jealous, and starting to get pistol fever now...thanks.
