    No Spring Turkey

My turkey tag is good this coming Monday- Thursday. Looks like the tag will stay on the side of the refrigerator. Last week I did the wrong thing, by not paying close attention to what I was doing. Wanted to get a head start on spring yard work, so I took the snow blower off my garden tractor...

    Iowa Turkey

Yesterday opened the spring turkey season here. We had a 30 MPH wind all day and nothing was moving but the trees. I only saw one hen all day. This morning started out nice and calm and I could hear four different toms gobbling. I didn't set any decoys out this morning, because the hen I saw...

    Iowa Dove Season

OK I have a problem. Iowa is having it's first dove season next month and you MUST USE STEEL SHOT. I have a Pedersoli SxS, 12 gauge that I have used for the last ten years for pheasants and rabbits with lead shot. What do I need for shooting steel or bismuth? Thanks for the help. Leon

    Pistol Barrel Question

I have an Investor Arms rifle barrel with a twist of 1 in 48 and I'm thinking of cutting it down and making a pistol. Would this rate of twist work for a pistol? Right now the only way I can get a good group with it is with a light charge. ( 60 grains or less of 3F) Thanks Leon

The rifle has never been fired and I am wondering if it should be? I know nothing about CVA, other then I have had two...
