    Loads for 58 cal "Reneboar"

Thanks everyone. Definitely for hunting, so I'll start at 90 and go up. Grimord: I'm working on getting the 56 SB working with a .530 rb and jeans for a patch. I think that I need to start at 60 gr. FFg and work up from there.

    Loads for 58 cal "Reneboar"

Hello friends, I just sent a not so great 50 cal. Renegade bbl off to Bobby Hoyt to be rebored to 58 Al with a slow twist for prb. Any ideas where to start with powder loads? I'm kinda excited about this one! exPAtriate

    HOW RURAL IS RURAL?

Just under 7 acres here in the People's Republic of Maryland, have a small farm, and can hunt across my neighbors' fields. Not too bad but oh the taxes! Anyone from eastern Tennessee? We're thinking about retiring there..

What to do in between hunts....

I'll try it, they might fit better in the ml cabinet that way, also.

What to do in between hunts....

I know, I just wanted to add to the sarcasm...🙃 Cleaning my traditional muzzleloaders is far better than the cartridge rifles. Some hot water and Murphy's smells a WHOLE LOT BETTER than Butch's, Eds red, or Hoppes. I'm even allowed to clean them in the bathroom which is a lot warmer than the...

What to do in between hunts....

I don't know about shooting up at a slight angle. I really like my neighbors (that's where I hunt) and I live in a Red county.

What to do in between hunts....

Should I then use the ball puller then the patch puller? (I haven't had a need to use them yet.)

What to do in between hunts....

Hi, First time doing traditional ml hunting this winter. What do I do in between hunts with my percussion Renegade? Should I just shoot into the ground and clean, or can I just take off the cap and ignore it like my unmentionable IL? The "brass suppository season was a bust here at home and...

    Thumper finally tested.

Thanks! I'm thinking 54 cal now, but full length barrel.

    Thumper finally tested.

I'm drooling looking at that delicious elk meat! Congrats and job well done! I'd like your advice on a rebore. I've got a Renegade 50 cal w/pitting in the barrel. I've got factory Renes in 54 and 56 cal. My thoughts: 54 cal fast twist for conicals 58 slow twist for prb 58 fast twist for...

    Ballistol.............

There are far worse smells in my chem locker of cleaning solvents! Butch's for the unmentionables for example. 2 gun max per cleaning with that stuff!

I'm just south of the border. We have huge boulders of Port Deposit blue granite here, all through my hayfield and the pH is on average 5.5. I'd love some limestone naturally in the soil!

    Got Lucky This Morning

Good job! I miss squirrel hunting with my Dad, but we used 22s. I'm a new proud owner of a TC Rene 56 SB and a Patriot, so my motto is going to be: Make Squirrel Hunting Fun Again!
