    Targets; Opinions wanted

Remember we are all unique and different results for different folks. There are many different lenses to choose from. I wanted the clearest vision at infinity and I would manage closer distance. My choice was and is to choose best vision st distance and wear lenses for reading. I have worn...

    Targets; Opinions wanted

Pretty much see it just okay, some a little fuzzy but clear enough to center the front sight in the rear. A few of my “Unmentionables” wear rear peep sights and more have scopes so no issues, but I don’t feel hampered with open rear sights. Yep with developing the cataract post retinal surgery...

Do you display your flintlock or other guns in your home

The best security for valuables are those no one knows about! I’m sorry.

Do you display your flintlock or other guns in your home

Now that my grandchildren aren’t little kid’s anymore and my 66” x 37” Fort Knox safe is over filled (unloaded) , as well as a gun cabinet (unloaded) they are strategically concealed all over the house and everyone of those is loaded. The grandkids know they are loaded and I’ve made it...

I would have told him,”well maybe you would taken that deer out of season but I never would! I’m not like that and respect the law.

    Plain Maple Colonial is finished

That’s the nicest “plain maple” stock I’ve ever seen. I’d pick that over fancy maple with a different finish. Good job, want’a make one like that for me……? After 60 hours work I don’t imagine so.

    DOES IT EVER GET CLEAN?

Each time we clean we get approximately half the crud out. Example, 1/2, 1/2, 1/2 etc. as you see never all of it. That’s what God intended so we live with it.

    Uberti .31 1849 Pocket Power

Thank you “Pastor”, these comments frequently go off the rails yet I enjoy them all. My first muzzleloader was a little replica of a Colt .31. Loved the look and feel of the little thing but the balls would simply bounce off the wood target. After the second came back and hit me, no injury, I...

    Uberti .31 1849 Pocket Power

Not to nitpick as I’m pretty sure you well know you say you’ll not mention the gun but then give us a picture of the revolver and and ammo, thank you. You are also showing .451 balls not .330. Interesting, thanks.

Current quality of the Italian makers

I took my SP-101 to one (and only one) Church security training class once. I usually use my Glock G30S 45 acp or my 40 S&W G23. Let me tell you the report from that high pressure 327 Fed. shook the room. I’d think your 357 would as well. Worse, we were practicing firing from contact...

    Dumping Ballistol and Gun Oil

I believe ya, I was just kidding you. Is Rig an oil (liquid), a grease or paste? PS: Just found it, it’s a grease. So how do you get it into the mechanism, ie. lock, etc?

    Taylor Uberti better than Uberti?

Not saying you are wrong but my experience is a bit different. Based on quality alone I have an Armi San Paolo (my least favorite), a Cimarron, a Uberti (which I like more than the Cimarron), and finally a Pietta. The Pietta is the slickest revolver I own but the Uberti is a VERY close second...

    Dumping Ballistol and Gun Oil

My take away from all this is there are many different opinions on this subject and most folks are pretty satisfied with whatever they are doing. Therefore it doesn’t make much difference, clean it and oil it, go back later and oil again.
