    Making paper cartridges

I want to attempt to make some paper cartridges for the Brown Bess. What size forming rod should I use for .69 ball? The one kit online comes with a 3/4” dowel but I keep reading that you’re supposed to use one the same size as the ball you’re using. Any info would be great.

    Ultra-Hi Brown Bess

Picked up this Ultra-Hi Brown Bess. Look’s unfired in original box. Not too familiar with this brand. Any information would be appreciated.

    Birdshot

What about magnum lead shot? I believe it has things like tin and/or antimony to harden it? Will this damage the bore?

    Birdshot

Looking to get my first smoothbore and wanted to know if normal birdshot is ok to use in a muzzloader or does it need to be pure lead shot? I wanted to buy a bag of #6 but wanted to check beforehand. Any info would be great.
