How Deadly is a Flintlock Rifle…

    Hopefully sans a Latino mustache.....

    Hawken

Or the chatter marks throughout the Rifling I saw when I was carefully checking out a TC "Hawken" Rifle way back in 89; not that I'm claiming it was common but there it was when I put a narrow flashlight beam into the muzzle.

    Hawken

OK, but why after reading your post here did I get an imaginary image of Pee Wee Herman pedalling along an isolated Hill track with a .22 cal Hawken Rifle on his girly boy Bicycle hunting for Grizzly Bear ?

    Hawken

I suspect that ol J&S Hawken copied the original Thompson Centre ones, but couldnt afford the glitzy Brass.........

How Deadly is a Flintlock Rifle…

IME the Brit officers were generally a good species, some of them actually put on "the eccentric officer" bit to lighten things up. I remember one, then a Gurkha Captain on a 2 year exchange who was posted to our Battalion Mortar platoon. On his first day he marched the platoon up to the 25...

Theres no such "Australian Royal Marines" , never has been and probably never will be. Our Australian Defence Force (ADF) doesn't even have "Marines" as such.

How Deadly is a Flintlock Rifle…

The OP may have thought it 'entertaining' but the two guys doing the video we're putting it out as "fact".

How Deadly is a Flintlock Rifle…

Agreed, dont denigrate the poor Brit Soldier who just did his Duty, focus on the shite successive Brit govts since WW2 thats deployed their Troops in pointless conflicts. As a retired Australian Army Veteran I can testitfiy to the fact that they don't come much better than the Brit combat Troops.

I like the thought you're obviously putting into it, well done sir. I've been thinking of making one up myself and this thread has reactivated my interest, saving the photos for reference now.

    Hunting with 'Bess

I'm a fellow Cancer survivor from back in 2010, endured 3 months of Chemo and Radiation "therapy" they told me afterwards that I was only given a 50/50 chance of recovery. It changed my life, transformed from an intense workaholic into a fully retired individual retrained to enjoy every day of...

"Days of Yore" An eccentric Englishman and his Antique ML collection.

I thought some of you would be interested in this rather dated British doco, I prefer the company of eccentric people and this fella delights me. Watch for the enthusiastic Retriever Dawg "oh goody we're going to murder some Birds again" LOL "The Blighter" holding a Balloon (thankfully he let...

What is the reasonable distance to quickly kill a turkey with a muzzleloader?

Off topic kinda but bear with me, we Aussie bush boys were generally taught Gun safety and Marksmanship with Bolt action single shot .22 cal Rifles; and that included being able to drop a wild Pig with a round placed just below their ear. Of course that demanded good stalking and a reasonably...

    Is FFFG the Cause

Lets keep in mind the health implications, particularly for we older guys. ML filler should be simple and affordable yet healthy; personally I use MacKensies Natural Bran for 3 reasons 1. Its Scottish albeit made in Australia. 2. Its lightly granulated (accepted that big wurds arent USMC...
