TC flintlock cock, any replacements fit?
I dunno about anyone making new cock's for the T\C. I'm sure you know there are replacement locks you can buy. I checked Ebay for T\C but the prices for a factory T\C lock are outrageous (from $150-$300). I think L&R replacement locks are like $150 for percussion and more for a flint. FWIW- DaveT

Hawkens green mt barrel
I put a GM replacement on my T\C about ten years ago. .50 cal and it's been a tac driver since day one. When I built my Leman I put a GM .54 cal barrel on it. Asking for Powder Charge Recommendations
Between 20-40gr FFF is a good range. I have a 50 caliber pistol with a 12" barrel that I use for deer hunting. I use a charge of 50gr FFF and a Hornady Pa Conical that weighs 240 gr.. This load gives me a MV of 939fps and at 50 yards calculates to be 844fps. The 50 yards is the maximum range I... -

Questions on bringing a T/C Hawken back to life
I dunno if you're using a cut flint in your rifle......but those are not (IMHO) the best. Get some good quality English flints and install with the bevel down. That should give you a higher "hit" on the frizzen and improve the spark going to the pan.- DaveT

Trigger issue
First....if you're going to file anything....file the part that is the cheapest to replace. I this case, that would be the trigger.....NOT the sear bar!! Triggers can be replaced for much less $$$ and aggravation that the sear bar. Now, BOTH triggers are designed to engage (hit) the sear bar...- DaveT

As others have stated, don't use "Wonder Lube". As I've always contended.....what's so "wonderful" about Wonder Lube? Go to your local pharmacy and pick up a box of alcohol swabs. A very good friend of mine gave me a set of elk teeth. (Bugler's) Not really knowing what to do with them I was thinking what would they look like inlayed in the stock of a flinter? Too much bling? I used this "stuff" called Historic House Solutions. Brass Tarnishing A visit to their web site shows the small bottle $7.50 is out of stock. The small bottle is plenty enough to use on several guns.
