    Turkey load

Yes, I've definitely had a few seasons in the northeast where it felt like the birds were just done breeding and not all that active. I also have friends that are good turkey hunters and swear by hunting the end of the season for their best opportunities with big toms. Definitely gets harder...

    Turkey load

Makes sense. Sounds like I've got a little experiment to work on in the coming weeks.

    Turkey load

These folks are just one state over in Pennsylvania so I bet I could get them pretty quick. This work? https://rmcoxyoke.com/product/overshot-cushion-wad-half-inch/

    Turkey load

Gotcha... looks like a good recipe to replicate for my style of turkey hunting. I have to imagine I would see a fairly similar results using this wad instead of the fiber wad soaked in olive oil? Maybe? Also I notice they mention not needing an over powder card with these wads...

    Turkey load

OK. Makes sense. For better or worse track of the wolf talked me into the wool wads.

I was trying to emulate the skychief load for a tighter pattern.

    Turkey load

Hi folks, I finally was able to gather everything I need to turkey hunt this season with my 20ga pedersoli. It wasn't easy to find black powder and caps locally but I eventually found a place an hour or so away here in Maryland. Gonna do some shooting this week and wanted to make sure what I...

Thinking of buying a pedersoli shotgun

Ok great. I'll check out skychiefs write up and try to figure out what I need. Perhaps for turkeys I could try to figure out a load using some of the newer TSS shot but I'm sure lead shot will do just fine for now. I dont have any powder beyond the pyrodex pellets I use in my modern...

Thinking of buying a pedersoli shotgun

Is there an online shop folks recommend for purchasing the necessary accessories for shooting, cleaning, etc? The first thing I would like to do is get the gun setup for turkey hunting which starts here in Maryland in a little over a month.

Thinking of buying a pedersoli shotgun

I ordered a new 20ga... should be here next week. Now I just need to figure out what else I need to do some shooting and get ready for turkey season next month. As a rule I really don't like buying things that are brand new, but it should last the rest of my life and hopefully one of my three...

Thinking of buying a pedersoli shotgun

OK. Thanks for all the information. Still not sure what I'm going to get but I did find a new 20ga online (prices have gone up and that gun is now $1250 + tax), a kit 12ga ($925.00) or there are a few used 12ga from folks on this forum closer to the price of the kit from pedersoli. I kind of...

Thinking of buying a pedersoli shotgun

Hi Folks, I'm a new member out of Maryland thinking about purchasing a classic pedersoli shotgun. The plan would be to use the gun primarily for woodcock and grouse, ducks and turkeys. I still have a lot to learn about muzzleloader shotguns but I enjoy shooting traditional bows and I see a...
