    this is the French Nessler. I’m making a mold for this in .735” to try in my EIC Pattern F musket.

    I think all of those materials would be too porous.

    You could have a machinist turn a solid steel ball, but with a CNC machine you could just as easily turn the round cavity

    You’d have to find a proper sized ball bearing. You could press the bearing into aluminum to make the cavity, but I’d remove material first to make the final press easier and keep distortion of the block to a minimum. May need an hydraulic press to get the required pressure.

    I usually make these: A .547” Minie ball mold.

    I made a double cavity .670 round ball mold. The guy I made it for says it works great!
