    2.25 powder charge

In the state parks here in La for blank rounds is 3 oz per inch of bore of 1F or cannon grade.

    2.25 powder charge

I do my cannon charges by weight. I do my muskets by volume. Charge in weight is different than charge in volume.

    Pedersoli Harpers Ferry 1805

I don't own one but thinking of getting one. My gripe in looking at these is why they made the flintlock a rifled version and they could have easily done it in 54 cal. I am willing to take a chance on one.

NAVY ARMS FRENCH MLE 1777 CHARLEVILLE FLINTLOCK PISTOL

What is the quality of this navy arms. If you come across one in very good shape would you pay $425 for it? I can across a 1973 listing of $190 for them. Just rough thoughts on this. I don't have one for sale but came across one on gunbroker.

Blunderbuss- Middlesex or Veterans or ????

Vid of first firing. 75 gr bp with matching volume #6 shot. Paper towel used for wad between powder/shot and also to hold shot in. The 10 gauge shot cards were too small to use. I had fun. Tricon hat with white shrimping boots. So period correct. Selfie so left is right.

Blunderbuss- Middlesex or Veterans or ????

The first time I dry fired it I thought to myself if I had cocked it or not. Yes I might have to go to a commercial truck weight scale to get the trigger pull #. Being the barrel so short, 16", for live loads I will keep it between 65 to 75 grains Blank loads I will start at 80 grains. I use...

    WANTED Hand Gonne

In my search I did see Freak Forge name come up. I wish he still was in business but that is how it is when life goes in another direction. My last resort is getting one made at a machine shop. Another option is to find a smooth bore barrel with the breech plug installed. Maybe a muzzle loading...

    WANTED Hand Gonne

That is sweet looking. I tried contacting the rifle shoppe by email then by phone but no response. I like how the Hakenbushe has the spike built in. Your finish is excellent. What is the load you are banging?

    Blank rounds and Fire danger

I do CW and War of 1812 cannon crew. For CW on state or private land we load bp into ziplock bags and then into the hd foil close to the dia of the tube. While War of 1812 on Fed land no ziplock bag but all foil.

Blunderbuss- Middlesex or Veterans or ????

I don't know if I glanced at Loyalist Arms site right but they wanted US $699 . For some reason I thought they would be cheaper. I was wrong.

Blunderbuss- Middlesex or Veterans or ????

"Why not just deal directly with loyalist?" The flintlock is ready to go. The vent is drilled and it has been test fired. Then I don't have to wait for it to pass thru customs. Paid more for it but like I said I will get it quicker and ready to fire.

Blunderbuss- Middlesex or Veterans or ????

I will be calling the The Muzzleloading Shop tomorrow evening. I will decide what I am getting after I talk to them. I do like the Loyalist blunderbuss but will be happy with a French one from Veterans.

Nice looking. I wish I had enough talent to be able to build one. I am better off getting one already built.
