Just a little feedback on the basic cross-draw holster from Track.

Track says it is a good fit for both the 1860 and 1858. It fit my Pietta 1860 almost like a glove, but... it is a little small for my 1858. https://www.trackofthewolf.com/Categories/PartDetail.aspx/421/1/HOLSTER-SJ-R

Well, Midway kept tempting me with their $279 price for the Traditions/Pietta 1860 Army; and with their OFFER66666 promo code making shipping free I gave in and placed an order today. Since I all I have is #11 caps, I guess I need to order some replacement nipples as well. Already have the...

    Half-stock flintlocks

Been reading my copy of "When Skins Were Money", and came across this painting from 1830. Appears to me to clearly show a half-stock flintlock rifle. So, unless the artist "made it up", it seems that half-stock flintlock rifles did exist, rare though they may be.

    Identification needed

Anyone ever seen one of these? Looks to be an octagon to round barrel. Stamped Investarms, CAL 20 on the barrel, but owner says it is a 30 cal. Date code is 1986. I have not seen it in person, yet.

LOL, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Are my eyes failing, or is that a 1858 (with caps) on Lee Van Cleef's gun belt (with cartridges). None the less, STILL one of my favorites. Love the scene where Tuco demands the gun shore owner show him revolvers (and cartridges) - taking place around 1862 or 63...

    Auction humor

Finding humor where I can. Saw an online auction that listed this: "Joseph Gulcher Black Powder Muzzle loader measuring .53mm on our micrometer with a single round capacity and a 39.5" octagonal barrel". I wrote to confirm the specs. The reply: "I will ask the catalog department. I believe the...
