    T/C lock issue

When you take the lock out to check for function make sure the two small screws that hold the bridle plate on are good and tight. As for the hammer, that is the normal angle for a TC Hawken hammer.

    Question on T/C New Englander

They drill from the back side to make the flash channel for fire from the nipple to reach the main charge then plug it with a screw & grind it flush. And no, it's not removable. They used to do it from the other side & seal it with a small screw & called it a 'clean-out' screw. So many people...

    Thompson Center Bought from S&W

Variations on the Encore & maybe Contender platforms would be my guess. And if there's any muzzlers they'll almost assuredly be of the kind we don't talk about here. And probably be a year or few down the road before even that happens. And stay on good terms with your bank if you think you might...

    CVA Mountain rifle Barrels

CVA had a 'button' tang and a square tang so, as long as their fitment to the tang is the same they should interchange.

FOR SALE .50 Investarms Carbine 23" barrel, Cabela's Charles Daly $395 + shipping

Pictures show two different rear sights so, which one is actually on the gun for sale?

    TC Hawken Tang

Most likely it's been refinished and in the process all the hot-melt glue TC used for 'tolerances' has been removed allowing the tang to drop farther down. Loosen the tang screws, insert the barrel, snug screws & see what ya got. If this works, remove the tang & bed it with some epoxy or J-B weld.

CVA/Traditions Hawken pistol with what looks like a laminated stock.

It'll fit a Renegade stock if that helps.

    SOLD 58 cal Buffalo hunter

One reason it's still here is because I don't have the 5 Benjamins required for the tariff.

    Drams to Grains

There's something in "settings" you can click to not see ads that I used but I don't remember exactly how I did it.

SOLD T/C White Mtn Carbine .50 barrel

No, it won't. The Green Mountain barrel is octagon, the Grey Hawk barrel is round.

    time machine

Don't know about this side but, it is said that on the other side of the pond that the reason the Brits wore clothes with all those buttons and kept them all buttoned was to contain the smell.

What are your favorite Thompson Center (T/C) Percussion guns?

No help on the set triggers but, get a single trigger from a Cherokee and wedge escutcheons & thimble from a Hawken and brass'er right up. And if ya could do without that thin rubber butt pad, a brass Scout butt plate would complete the deal.

What are your favorite Thompson Center (T/C) Percussion guns?

My Renegade with the 54cal Hawken barrel on it. If the Renegade had about inch of pull length and about a 32 inch barrel it would be about perfect in my eye.

WITHDRAWN Lyman Signature Great Plains Rifle .50 cal

He's talking about that little inch or so step-down at the top of the lock panel behind the hammer. I'ts factory. the Spanish makers do the same thing.
  18. T

    Thimbles under T/C Hawken barrel

Yep. As much as I love my TC's they sure picked some odd things to cheap out on. Screws that are either too soft or too brittle and the overuse of hot melt glue instead of having a little tighter tolerances when fitting parts to the stock are probably my two biggest pet peeves with them.
