    SOLD CVA .58 Big Bore

More info: THIS BARREL COULD BE AMERICAN. From an earlier post from this web site: “The barrel does not say "Made in USA" but there are no proof marks on it anywhere, leading me to believe that it was made in the USA.”

    SOLD CVA .58 Big Bore

Update: There are no marks on the barrel, or the lock (without taking it out), or any other place I can find. All I know is that when I bought it, it was sold as a CVA .58 Big Bore flinter. I am obviously not an expert, but it does strike me as well made. Case not included.

    SOLD CVA .58 Big Bore

Flintlock (used): I have never fired it. I know nothing wrong with it. I just never had the time. I think it should go to a good home! It’s in beautiful condition. Silver (colored) cap and a browned Spanish barrel. Sorry, I’m not sure how old it is. I’m willing to part with it for $350. Also...

I want to learn how to make a caplock from scratch

Thanks, everyone, for the info. I have more experience woodworking, but have dabbled with forging in making file knives. I’m interested I making the easiest type of percussion weapon for a SHTF scenario. I’m not new to weapons, I was a US Army armorer—which doesn’t mean much—but I’m not...

Hi all, I haven’t been here in two years...

...and I still have yet to fire my first black powder firearm. (I know...but life.) In the mean time, I have endeavored to move my family to Idaho—for financial and political reasons. As the head of my family, I just felt the need to do this.... Unpacking my stuff, I came across my CVA flinter...

Need help with CVA w/Green Mountain Barrel

It's a used weapon. Barrel was browned--possibly originally a kit. No markings on the barrel that I can see anywhere.

Need help with CVA w/Green Mountain Barrel

Moonman76, thank you for the recommendation, but I'm not getting much from a search. Seems like the things of legends. They were made at the close of CVA in America, especially the .58 cal. Were the mountain rifles made as their last "traditional breath" before succumbing to takeover? What I...
