    So... I REALLY want one!

I have Piettas, Ubertis, a Colt 3rd gen, ad Armi San Paolo(Euroarms) I wouldn't hesitate and am about to buy another 1860 Pietta, the new Piettas are out doing the Ubertis. Since they bought new CNC machinery to make um' they have done quite well. Integrity, fit, finnish and Price. For those...

Question for ROA and '58 Rem gurus

I just lube my 1858 pin before I load it and use homemade lube pills that some call grease cookies. A proper made batch of olive oil, beeswax or bolwax or soy wax, and parafin. I can shoot all day with out cleanin' any Rev I got. Pills go in top of powder under ball, wax holds and carries the...

    Opinions please

I think it is an exlint choice, and is quite period correct with the caplock. Good choice.

    Cause of misfire?

Did you fire a cap thru it before loading? Always a good idea to hold it close to the dirt and fire a cap to see the nipple is cleared. Carry a nipple picka also...

Cabella's Ivory handled, engraved pietta 1851 navys

Capt. Willard, a friend of mine got one and is very pleased with the overall finnish and accuracy. If I had the money to I'd get one myself. If you wanna ask him(Wayne)he camps put in http://www.voy.com/60048/ I have an 1851 Uberti Navy very pleased with it but that Pietta seems to get better...

    1851 Navys

Cimarron or Taylors...for Uberti are two. Taylors carry both. I'd go Euroarms myself for a $190 or Cabelas Pietta for $179.99 they are more accurate, tighter bore and chamber dimensions and made as well lately if not better than some Uberti's 1858's. I have all three and like all three...

Wads vs. Lube in cap-n-ball? Beginner!

Here's a method for the lube pills. Dang I'm Broke Lube Pills What I did was start out with: Parafin comes in a brick divided to to 4 like a stick a butter, I used a stick. Then 1/4 of a Toilet Seal Ring(Bolwax)substitute with beeswax or use just the parafin. Then 8-10 Tablespoon of Olive...

tricks for removing stuck nipples needed.

Frozen cones, soak in diesel fuel for 5 days or so. Most always works. Broken nipple wrench, slot a decent socket 1/4 drive(deep or shallow depending)and use the breaker bar with it.

    Uberti 1862 .36 Pocket Navy..

Yup the rebated cylinder is more authentic, Uberti. Colt took the 1848 Baby Dragoon and 1849 Pocket .31's and made the 1862 Pocket/Police in .36 but rebating cylinder and stepping the frame to accept it...that what Uberti did. Pietta used a 1851 cylinder, allowing it to use the .32 cartridge...

    Uberti 1862 .36 Pocket Navy..

Just throwin' this in. Shooters have wanted to put a conversion in the '62s...with Ubertis you can't buy one as they aren't made. Pietta on the other hand has the same frame and cylinder as the '51 & '61...Kirst & R&D go right in. No rebated cylinder or stepped frame.

    1860 colt won't cock

If the sear is fitting the fullcock notch of the hammer ok, flat top of sear in notch and not pointed or rounded, try switching the trigger and bolt screws for the heck of it. That has worked me a couple times. The trigger screw gets grooved or worn when older and the screw from the bolt isn't...

    Chainfire on 36 Remington

.451 ball should have a nice little lead ring then when pressed into the chamber. Another mystery I guess...hopefully it won't happen again. I still can't get by that cap still bein' on there.

Wads vs. Lube in cap-n-ball? Beginner!

Good deal, I like success stories. Clean up is pretty easy too don't ya think? I use scaldin' hot soapy water and same for rinse water. A nylon bottlebrush a couple patches and yur done.

    Chainfire on 36 Remington

Is It a Uberti, Pietta? The Uberti take a .380" ball, Pietta usually takes a .375"" ball...never did read what make yours is.

Wads vs. Lube in cap-n-ball? Beginner!

I'd rather not clean um all day by usin' the lube pills. I don't understand why people don't try makin' um themselves...heck I have posted the recipes enough. And if you don't like makin' lube pills buy small box from my friend that's sellin' um. Well I guess people don't always believe what...
