New Walker ordered. What else do I need to know

It is legal in Georgia. And the rifle is the first and probably only shot. In Ga it’s not uncommon to have the opportunity for multiples on pigs. The backup is more a justification for another gun.

New Walker ordered. What else do I need to know

I’ve got plenty of measures. I replace lost ones regularly, then the prodigal returns. I’ve got a box of balls, and both kinds of caps. I’ll play with it to figure out what it likes. Seriously considered the ROA, but I’ve always wanted a walker and invented an excuse.

New Walker ordered. What else do I need to know

i broke down and ordered an Uberti Walker and some 45 balls. I’ve got #10 caps and 2and3f Goex. I’m planning to shoot this for fun and as a backup on muzzleloader hunts where it’s possible to have multiple shots on pig sounders. Anything I need to get extra before it arrives and I load the...

Help with a white mountain Carbine .50

Next time I get an order up I’ll give the reals and pa a go. I’ll try a little thicker patch with roundball to see if that helps but I about couldn’t get it down with Walmart pillowticking. A better pad would probably help some, I’ll see what I can come up with on that end. Until then I’ll let...

Help with a white mountain Carbine .50

i bought a white mountain a while back for the 20ga smooth barrel that came with it. Now I’m trying to get the rifle barrel going for my son. I tried a few shots with prb and quickly figured out that wasn’t going to work. I’ve since learned it’s a fast twist for bullets. Well I tried a couple of...

    Walker... Or... Dragoon...

I’ve been kicking the walker/dragoon idea around. I’d really like to put my hands on a couple before dropping the coin.

    Spanish 28ga

Thx everybody. Gun shoots fine. Definitely have to keep the loads on the lighter side for recoil. Haven't tried any round balls since this one seems to have som choke, a 530 ball won't pass the muzzle.

    Spanish 28ga

I recently bought a Spanish 28ga for my 8yr old. It's light enough for him to hold up vs my 56 renegade. I was just seeing if anyone had used one of these, and if so how stout are they? Didn't want to blow the boy or gun up. I was thinking 50-60gr of 2f and about the same amount of shot. Also...

How much barrel wall is needed?

I have a .32 CVA varmint that has a pitted bore. Metric barrel that reads .875 on the flats with my junkie calipers. What could this be bored out to safely? Thought I might shorten the stock a little and have a handy little smoothbore for my kids to use.

    Problem shooting up

I'm new to flintlocks and just got a TVM fowler. I've been more than happy with it shooting flat, but when chasing squirrels I've had several times it wouldn't shoot up. I think the powder is falling out of the pan before the sparks get to it. Anything I can do fix this? Thx Andrew
