Well, I’m a Maynard Owner Now!

Hey guys :) I’ve wanted a Civil War Maynard carbine for many many years now. Well, the right one seems to have crossed my path: This little cutie pie was for sale at Lodgewood Mfg. I’ve dealt with Dave Stavlo there for many years. He’s an excellent gunsmith and gentleman and sure knows...

    My New Scott Summerville Folders

Gang, Today at the Fort de Charters trade fair I had a fantastic time. Met some forum members and saw a bunch of great things. Good turnout. I was super pleased to see master knife maker Scott Summerville there. I spent a lot of time talking with him and just had to buy these two beautiful...

    Capt. Schaeffer’s Pistol

Well after looking at the very interesting Pietta Capt. Schaeffer revolvers for a long time I finally bought one this week from EMF: This little gun is a sight to behold. Matching of the internal parts is the best I’ve ever seen on an Italian cap and ball revolver, and once cleaned of the...

    WANTED Confederate Accessories

I am writing a piece about the Confederate use of civilian shotguns in combat and need some props for the photos I plan to take. A cap box, maybe a knife of some kind, hat, blanket, haversack, uniform etc. etc. Anything period correct for a Rebel soldier. I would like to rent the items for...

    Stock Workers?

Can anyone recommend any stock workers I can contact? I’ve got a Pedersoli that has a length of pull at 14 1/2” but for me (I’m small) I greatly prefer 13” or so. This makes shooting the gun uncomfortable and awkward, as if I don’t have enough of that in my life already! Thanks gang, Smokey

    ‘Ol Rabbit Ears

Here’s my brand new detonator-fired double barrel fowling piece: It’s a Penderseldi 12 gauge. This particular gun got lost in the mail from Dixie Gun Works but by God’s will that situation resolved itself and here it is. This gun is an absolute hoot. I enjoy it muchly! I’ve tried buck, ball...

    Source for Shot?

Have a shotgun coming (Pedersoli 12 gauge side by side) and want to hunt squirrel and rabbits. Maybe turkeys. Where are y’all getting your loose shot? I’ve harvested some from unmentionable shells but it’s a waste. Thinking #5 for the squirrel and rabbits (should I choose something else?). Thanks.

    Gun Lost :’(

Well I ordered a Pedersoli 12 gauge shotgun from Dixie Gun works 10 days ago. The carrier is the USPS. Since the 25th, it shows it’s stuck “in transit” since leaving the Mephis distribution center. :( For a week now it’s been like that. So I called the post office customer service line and...

    Failure :’(

Whelp… tonight I attempted to add a brass tip to the bare wood ramrod of my trade gun. I THOUGHT I made the measurements correct, but it ended up being much too short: As you can see, the end of the tip is not flush with the muzzle. It’s bothering me tremendously. I fear I’ll have to make a...
