    Shipping a Muzzleloader UPS

UPS not knowing its own policies is a common problem. Your average counter worker doesn't know squat and a UPS store will not touch a gun, they're a seperate entity under their own rules. If you want the specifics I recently went through this and contacted a friend at Track of the Wolf, they...

    Track's Bore Light?

I've found white, red, and yellow to be a bit too intense, the green works best for me. These should all be available in those little bobber lights... just look for the replacement packages (about $2.75 around here). They say up to 24 hours of life but when you consider you're using it for less...

    Long Hamock Barrels

I'm not possitive about who makes them or their quality, I've never handled one, but I think you can get them through Buckeye Barrels...

    stock finish/permalyn finish trouble

Was the water clean or was it fouled water out of the bore? If you're cleaning your gun and the dirty water gets on the finish it'll streak almost every time, depends a little on the solvent/cleaner you're using but I've seen it happen a lot. Not a problem with the finish but the residue from...

    1756 Sea Service Pistol

We didn't have to chase the lock plate at all, the parts came detailed enough that we just took care when cleaning up those areas so as not to rub them out. The barrel was the slightly amazing part, it had a big white sticker on the breech with TOTWs part number on it... when I peeled it off the...

    Flintlock Mortor VERY COOL

George Neumann's book "Battle Weapons of the American Revolution" shows a "Dutch Mortar Shoulder Arm" on page 198. It has a brief description of the piece along with the dimensions. Additionally the Rifle Shoppe has a series 819 Hand Mortar listed on page 26 of their 2002-2003 (most recent I...

    1756 Sea Service Pistol

After nearly a year since I got the parts she's done! Now, I'll be the first to admit that I did very little on this gun. I have a good friend who is an exceptional builder (in my book)that helped me through the entire process, which is why it took so long. All Rifle Shoppe parts (barrel and...

    Your first Vous or renactment

Guess I can share mine... I must have been about 10, maybe 12, my Dad had been doing CW since he was kid when the 100th events rolled around. By the time I came along he was part of the 1st Minnesota and would take off to do stuff with them all the time. We lived in WI so I didn't get to see...

    Rifle Shoppe Long Land

I'm not 100% right now but I think it went up on Track's sight for $2299.00 I talked to him today and I guess it went on "sale pending" within 24 hours...

    Rifle Shoppe Long Land

I have a friend that just finished one of Track's kits and then sent it to them to sell. It's still up on their sight but list as "Sale Pending" I bet he's happy, they've only had it a week. Take a look at it, he did all the proper stamps and everything, it's dead on...

    Mel Gibson's 'Apocalypto'

Sorry about that Claude, I was going off of what I could remember from my old Archy and Anthro classes, I should have looked it up. The dates I was remembering were for the older, "Classical Period" that had seen its demise well before Europeans arrived (in South and Central America anyway!)...

    Mel Gibson's 'Apocalypto'

I looked this up on IMDB.com and they list as a film set 3,000 years ago. And the Mayan empire was long gone by the time of European arrival, it had been replaced by the Aztecs. So I wouldn't worry about making the Catholic Spaniards look bad! This movie is going to be pre-Passion. :peace:

    Brown Bess

I've got the book, "Pattern Dates for British Ordnance Small Arms 1718 - 1783" and it covers all kinds of cool Bess stuff. I know Track has it... http://www.trackofthewolf.com/categories...Num=BOOK-PDBOSA and if you want to see a cool finished one check out this one at Track. One of my...

    Queen Anne Brass Barreled Pistol

I have the Pedersoli, it's ok, mine fires fine but I've had friends with them who couldn't get them to go off. One had a poorly drilled vent (bad placement), frizzen wasn't hard enough on the other. But I like mine... It cleans up pretty well (as long as you clean it!) and you can keep the brass...

    American Civil War in Oregon

I talked to a friend of mine out there, he emailed me these... Willamette Mission State Park outside of Salem, Oregon: July 2,3,4 Fort Stevens State Park outside Astoria, Oregon: Labor Day Weekend ... but no info beyond that.

The Rifle Shoppe and a "fusil de chasse"

Pillowtick, How was your TRS gun? I like their castings (when they can be had) but I've never seen a finished lock or gun.

    Interesting Jaeger

could it just be triangular at the muzzle? it looks like the corners are quite close to the edge of the barrel, and if it is swamped further back that would cause a bit of a problem... or perhaps it is trangularly "coned" at the muzzle?
