    Japanese matchlock bits required,help.

    I have a great Ten Mon teppo, short barrel with silver overlay and family crests, sadly the fuse(?) arm(?) has been replaced with a new job, although that must be over twenty years ago. Any idea how I can get a genuine replacement and of course a piece of cord?.

    I ahve just aquired the powder flask illustrated.Although I know a little about the guns, these are new to me. It looks a little 'Plastic' although alledged to be from the Edo period. Any thoughts?. :redface:

    Have just returned from Japan,astounded at the price asked forTanagashima in awfull condition over there. Seems to me that Matchlocks are surprisingly more available and certainly cheaper in the the UK & :nono:US!!!!!!!!!.

    Have just recieved an e.mail fro a collector of Tanegashima/Teppo who lives just outside of Hiroshima, his invite to visit is very tempting but will have to check out the time/cost of a side trip from Kyoto. Any idea?. :peace:

    Chinese Matchlock

    I have just had an e.mail from another collector who has aquired a massive Chinese Matchlock. Almost seven feet in length with a red lacquered stock. Will try to get some decent pictures as it would be good to verify and date if any have experience of these monsters. :sleep:
