    Patch material?

Wondering what you folks use for patch material other than the commercial material and what's the best source for it? The closest thing I've found is military cleaning patches which work well with a .530 RB, but they're pretty tight after getting down the barrel using the jag on the ramrod...

.54 Hawken is finally back up and ready

Got my .530 RB mold in the mail Tuesday and started doing some casting. Had everything ready to go and looked at the rear sight to find no elevation screw in it and the windage screw was stripped out to the point where no screwdriver in the world would have turned it. Pulled the rear sight and...

using shot in a rifled barrel?

Is ther any safe way to use shot, say #6, in a rifled 54 barrel without damaging the lands and grooves? I figure a sabot might work, but figured I'd better ask. Thanks

    Barrel for strictly RB

Any suggestions on twist for a barrel that will be used strictly for roundball? Wouldn't mind having a longer barrel for the Hawken and I'm thinking of just keeping it RB only. Also, how do the 1:48 twist barrels handle RB?...Still waiting on my mld to get here:-) Thanks Greg

    .32 GM barrel going

About ready to put this barrel on ebay, but I thought I'd check to see if anyone here wanted it first. 1:48, Percussion. Fits my Hawken perfect. This is a 1" barrel. Has rear adjustable sight (windage/elevation) and I'll throw in the Lee .310 RB mold. This barrel's been fired exactly 8 times...

    Any good classifieds around?

Was wondering if anyone knew of any good classifieds on the net for the purpose of selling and trading? Wanting to sell/trade a .32 GM barrel and looking to buy a slightly used 54 barrel, both for a TC Hawken. Anyone know of any classifieds geared for this type or are most dealing with the...

    Michigan whitetails

Been hearing from a few people about how many whitetails there are up in Michigan and how nice it is to hunt around the Lakes. I'm getting the fever pretty bad and was thinking maybe a trip up that way next year might be in order. I'd like to get my first whitetail using a smokepole. Any...

Questions on getting started the right way (.54 Hawken)

I just drug out a TC Hawken .54 that belonged to my dad and gave a good cleaning. I'd like to start working up some loads for it after I get my Lee RB mold and I was wondering what the min. and max loads for this thing are? I don't have any sort of owners manual for it, so I was hoping someone...
