    Powder can sit for months, years, decades, or more in a clean bore. (Clean means clean not oiled or fired ). If you fire a single shot, the residue become very hygroscopic and acidic. Time then becomes your enemy. If I fired a shot in the morning and didn't plan on hunting again until evening...

    What is it with curved buttstocks?

    I find curved butts and stocks very comfortable, enjoyable and preferable.. Some people have body types that just don't work well with them though. For them it can be a struggle. Lot's of styles to choose from.
