    Pecotonoca (?) kits

I built two kits from them. Like others said, kits were good in my opinion and they are great to work with.

    Permalyn or Tried and True

I made my own BLO/beeswax blend. Cheaper than Tried and True and worked out pretty well. It was about 85% BLO, 15% beeswax.

    Breech Plug Fit to Tang

I was wondering if any of you can alleviate a concern I have. I have an L&R slant breech/tang. They mate up well, but it seems like the breech can just easily slide out of the tang. Is this a problem? I'm used to a T/C style where they actually hook into place.

Need Advice on Fitting Breech Plug

This is what I'm working with: Colerain .58 cal straight octagon barrel. L&R flint patent breech plug. .75 x 16 threads. I fitted the plug to seal with the shoulder inside the barrel. The plug is indexed so bottom flat is on bottom. Problem is that I have a 1/32 to 1/64 gap between barrel...

Tell Me About Your "Horrible" Barrel

My first flintlock was a T/C Hawken .50 cal. The barrel was bent. I spent many frustrating months trying to get it to shoot where I was aiming. Sent barrel back to T/C. They mailed me a new one. All is good now.
