    Unique stock shape

Years ago I saw a photo of a percussion rifle with an interesting shape behind the breech. The tang sat in a long flat section, that tapered side to side, very reminiscent of the Mortimer saw handle pistols. Does anyone have any information on these. A name for the style, or a maker, or even photos?

    matchlock burn rate

I'm looking in to maybe doing a matchlock in the future. Is it possible to keep a slow match burning all afternoon, and if so, HOW? Or when you hunt do you not light it until there's a chance you can take a shot? If it is left to smolder all day how long will it last on average? Does it have a...

    barrel remnant

I have a section of barrel (32") long, tapered round, 50 cal. The bore is .500 the grooves total .510, very shallow indeed. Also there are only 3 lands and grooves of equal width and a twist of approximately 1-48. It came off an old parts gun and the markings must have been on the section...

    Walker/Dragoon 1 2 3

I'm contemplating buying a Walker clone. I've heard they were designed to hold a 60gr charge of powder, TRUE? Also, the 1st 2cd and 3rd model dragoons, what size cylinder do they have compared to the Walker(ie. powder charge) I know they're all 44's :idunno:
