Hatfields pop up on both Gunbroker and AuctionArms all the time. There's a .36 cal fullstock percussion on Gunbroker right now with the current bid at 400.00 dollars. Hatfields are a good semi custom rifle, are the as good as A custom rifle, No, but in my opinion, they are a good looking, acurate...

Saw my first HATFIELD ...in person

He-Bear The three Hatfields you saw at the New Albany shooting range are all my rifles. I am selling them through consingment. One is an original .54 cal Hatfield mountain rifle that has a cracked toe and forearm that the previous owner tried to repair with some form of wood glue. The other...

    Hatfield.....again

RussB If the hardware is all iron, it's most likley an original Ted Hatfield rifle. It looks like my.54 cal Hatfield halfstock. I'm not sure what year Hatfield went out of business. But the name Hatfield was used by a couple of other makers after the original company failed. There is a quality...

    Steam Clean

Both the bore and breech get very clean. The steam is so hot,the gunk just melts away. The wire brush helps remove any left over powder, and the patches come out clean after only a few passes.

    58 calibre moulds

Jack I had the same problem with my 61 Springfield. I found an old .580 cal Lyman mould on Gunbroker last year, started casting, and the mini's shot great for me. It took me six moulds to find one that worked in my rifle. So keep pluging away until you find one that works.

    Steam Clean

For about the last year,I have been cleaning my muzzleloaders with a home steam cleaner and wire brush. The steam cleaner gets the barrel so hot,I have to use gloves when cleaning. After it cools down,I run dry patches and then bore butter. Works great.Has anyone else tried this?.

Anyone heard of or shot a?

I noted prices from 425.00 to 600.00 dollars for a new A&H flinter. Which for the rifle seems to be a little high,In my opinion. I will go for a good used rifle every time and save 200.00 to 300.00 bucks. That's a lot of powder and lead. I paid 300.00 for mine and it looks like brand new. I...
