I have hunted in the rain and snow, successfully many times with the flintlocks.I seal around the pan with some lube. touch hole liner threads ?

I am finishing up a 45 cal 13/16 green mountain barrel with a 1/4 - 28 touch hole liner. It appears that with the liner filed flush it is threaded about 3 1/2 threads in the barrel wall. Is this enough or did I do it wrong? Thanks

Oh, what to get, what to get....??

I have handled the tvm guns often, they are nice. I own a caywood wilson in 28 ga and it is great. While the outside dimensions of the barrel are the same as a 20 ga, it is still light and a pleasure to shoot. The wilson lock is also excelent.

    Tape over Venthole

Trench, I have been using wonder lube, you know the yeliow stuff for a long time. Sometimes I mix it with deer tallow or bear grease depending on the season. But for deer hunting in NY I mostly use just straight wonder lube. Try putting some all around the pan with your finger to seal up the...

I have also quarterd and simmered squirrells in my cook pot till tender while on the trail. That tastes pretty good too. Good...

the pedersoli shotgun in 10 guage is very nice. ihave one of the older ones, its light and handles well. i originally bought the 10 ga because the stock (curved pistol grip, i think thats what its called) fit me much better than the straight style that was offered in the 12 ga. it performs well...

brass or iron mounts for a fowler?

I am having an english fowler built and i was wondering what would be more appropriate or common either brass or iron mounts.I would like the the fowler to be representative of an inexpensive gun imported from england before the rev war. This would not be a trade gun but a fowler that a working...
