    Powderhorn color process?

    I just looked at some custom powderhorns at a local gun shop that were a beautiful dark yellowish-brown color, obviously dyed that way. Anybody know the best substance to dye polished cow horn to produce the rich color of those custom horns? Thanks! Jerry
