    Coin wrappers for shot?

    The penny wrapper may be too tight? But what about the dime wrapper? I think it may be a slick way to preload shot charges.. The smoothy i am talking about is my Potsdam .75 cal.. Off to Waalmart to picck up a bag of wrappers.. A whole bag is a buck

    Or other smoothy? I know a steel shot cup must be used and I used them in my 10 gauge SXS.. Guess the problem would be finding a shot cup that would fit the bess.. Just thinking out loud is all :hmm:

    Perhaps y'all can help

    Many, many years ago, while at a gun show, i saw a Hawken style rifle in .58 calibre. The flats were wide and the ignition system was a musket cap. I do not feel this was an after market modification as a few years later i saw another. Wish i would have bought her and no i do not have any pix.

    Got the 1840 potsdam today

    I put a musket size flint in the cock. Pulled trigger and realized my flint was too wide. In fact it scratched the barrel. Time to knap.. Pray for me fellas :grin:

    Why do you shoot a muzzle loader?

    I am sure this question has been asked before, but i shall use my "newbie" status as an excuse. I love the muzzle loader as its a challenge. It has roots that run deep into our history. And nothing is more asthetic than a flinter.
