    Sorry for not being more clear from the get go, just getting over the flu and the brain is still a bit fuzzy. The new barrel i have is an exact replacement made by the manufacture, everything is drilled and ready to install my old sights, lower rib and ferrel, breach and plug. Just didnt know...

    Good info, thanks.. I havent shot it yet but will soon. I am very anal about rusting bores, more than likely it shoot just fine, just a hang up i have.

    its an investment arms hawken carbine .50 cal percussion. the bore is very pitted and worn, i didnt realize until a very good scrubbing.

    .451 or .454 works great along with felt wads and no grease. I have shot hundereds of rounds threw my 1860 pietta and have never had a problem, you want to see a nice thin ring of lead once you seat the ball, great gun and very reliable from what i had seen.

    I had an Uberti 2nd model dragoon which is like the Walker. I read about the loading lever problem thats why i choose the Dragoon, its lever latches like the 1860 colt Army, worked great and i regret selling it.

    got this rifle on a online auction for cheap, its a good shooter, along with the 50. cal pistol. The rifle is a .45 cal.
