    Cleaning with transmission fluid

    Tip Curtis told me when I was in his shop ... That he has always used 30wt motor oil in the bore of all his guns ... A light coat, then wipe before shooting ... Use what you want! I clean with luke warm water, dry, then Balistol ... Inside and out! I use Ed's Red on my "other" guns ...

    If You Don't Cast Boolits - You Should!

    Zonie, You forgot to mention the "Tinsel Fairy"! Water in any form should never be mixed with molten lead! Don't add fresh washed wheel weights, don't work out in the rain, wear a sweatband if your likely to have that problem ... As water added to molten lead will cause it to act like you...

    A "boolit" a a cast lead conical projectile which can be loaded in a brass cartridge thingy, but ... Also many folks use them loaded one at a time from the front end of a gun ... BTW there is a VERY informative site by the name of CastBoolits! Also lead does not vaporize until over 2000...

    Cherokee ?

    The Cherokee / Seneca's have 13/16" barrels ... Compared to the 15/16" or even 1" of it's bigger cousins Hawkin & Renegade.

    Did some patterning today.

    I raised turkeys when I was a teenager ... Usually less than 10 per year ... One year I had a huge Tom that I was very proud of! The smaller ones that dressed out about 20-25 pounds I'd swing around by holding their legs until they were dizzy, then lay them across a chopping block and hatchet...

    Could be tin ... Much lower melting point than lead, weigh your cast balls, if they are lighter, I'd say you got tin.

    Where do i ship a muzzleloader?
