    It needs to be pointed out that Dave Tutt was hit in the heart. Any projectile in the 1870's that penetrated the heart would have been fatal regardless of caliber.

    Cost of rebarelling a flitnlock longrifle?

    I did mine myself. Used the original tang and sights, bought new lugs. I hand filed the dovetails and browned it. I enjoyed the process and it didn't take too long.

    TC Renegade Re-barrel Project Issue

    I had the opposite problem with my Renegade Hunter.The barrel went so far in the stock that the barrel wedge would slip out. I lost 2 in the woods before I finally put 2 felt pads in the barrel channel. Just enough to snug up hte wedge so it would stay put.

    Cabelas has the Triple K Hickock holsters for $21.99. I have one for my Navy. It hangs straight down, but because I keep it on the same belt all the time I am thinking of stitching it in place on the belt with a slight forward rake.

    New 1851 Navy

    I bought the Navy that Cabela's sells with the fake Ivory grips about a year ago.I used 15 grns. because I bought the flask at the same time and that's what came with it.That charged worked great.The ball was hitting about 2" high at about 30 yrds.

    Use a drawknife to shape the sides and the belly.Leave extra on the belly so you can switch to a cabinet scraper for tillering.You need to take just a little off each limb and test it frequently to make sure they bend evenly as you bring it down to the draw wieght you want. DALE
