Dixie Gun Works Tennessee 32 with a Douglas barrel?

A friend has a Dixie 32 flintlock for sale. The owner states that he was told it was rebarreled with a Douglas barrel. There are no markings stating it is a Douglas unless they are under the bottom. But what intrigues me is the rifling is so shallow for a Douglas. My Vincent 40 cal with a...

    58 Remington maker?

I picked up a 58 Remington at a variety shop. It is not an Uberti or a Pietta and I know it is not a Santa Barbara as it says "Made in Italy". I do believe I have an Armi San Paulo (Euroarms) and maybe and Armi San Marco. The Serial Number starts with an "E" and is on the frame at the bottom...

Any way a handyman could ream out a Pietta cylinder a few thousandths with home tools? I have an extra cylinder that I would like to use the 130 grain Lee conical in. The Lee conicals I moulded out of pure lead will not enter the chambers easily. I thought they would at least slide in easily...

When I install the patchbox, do I inlet the lid and side panels into the side of the buttplate? Or directly in front of it? Not sure which is correct, but from looking at a lot of examples it looks like I file out a notch in the buttplate. Which is correct? Or is both OK? Thank you Bob

    How are tapered ramrods made?

I see them on other guys rifles. Looks like it starts out as a 1/2 inch or 7/16ths size for the first several inches and then 3/8ths inch the rest of the way. Lathe? or just scrape/sand it down that way? Thanks...Bob

Using Clorox to etch the blade

Made me up a butcher knife from a Russel Butcher blade and Buffalo horn scales. I've cold blued the blade and am wondering how long I leave the bleach to rust and etch the blade before I rub it off? I used a spray bottle and let the bleach land on the blade like rain. Is that the correct way...

I'm in the process of piecing together another muzzleloader from parts I have gathered up for several years. Its an older CVA Hawken with the 1 inch barrel and 1/66 twist in .54 caliber.
