    Crockett pistol

A few years back, I bought the wife one to go with her 32 cal Crockett rifle. The guys were razzing me about buying that "thing". They shut up when I walked away from the Nationals at Friendship with a gold medal in the 50 yd match! Like Plink said, I had to do some trigger work and definately...

    Cracked TOTW Pistol stock

I think they're trying to dump a defective stock and was hoping you'd accept it and go on with it. I'd refuse it because, I'm sure that piece on the lock side would break off when you start shaping and finishing it.

    left over barrel

Smoothie?! Hmmm... Just curious. Wouldn't a 58 cal pistol with a slow twist, be more accurate than a smoothbore? I'm thinking a slower twist, or lack of twist, would demand more velocity for accuracy? Correct me if I'm wrong,... please.

    Working very curly maple

OOOOOH yea, wait till you start shaping near the top front end of the forestock at the barrel channel! I had a piece flip off like fish scales. Luckily for me, that part was going to be cut off anyhow. I'm going the sandpaper route with this one. it's over 30 years old and brittle. GOOOOD LUCK!

    Patience is a virtue

I know what you mean there Bill! It takes me two to four months to build anything because of my crazy work schedule. And when it gets close to being done I start getting "ants in my pants".

    1x32" 40 cal on a T/C Renegade -too heavy?

That's pretty darn close to a T/C Cleland Match rifle. Definately works for me!

    Ruger 44 Old Army

Actually, I believe Headhunter is correct. The stainless steel ones weigh more, all others are blued.

    .40 cal shooters...

My T/C Cleland Match rifle shoots fantastic groups at 100 yds. using .395 Hornady with .018 patches. I do whack the short starter with a small mallet because, I usally make a day of shooting when I make it out to the club.

    That darn T/C company,

Jeez, guys. Almost every message board I visit has excellent things to say about T/C's great customer service. I have 4 of their Hawkens, and haven't had to call them even once! That says alot too!

    THERE IS A M OR A W STAMPED ON T/C BARRELS?

Could that be the logo for a Green Mountain barrel?

    Pedersoli Lepage Flint pistol

I like mine and I compete at the nationals with it.

How Long To Get A Barrel

Jeff, I was told the same thing when I placed an order for three barrels; "three weeks, tops". I waited over five months, and all three barrels were junk! The rifle barrel had chatter marks on the lands all the ways down the barrel. They were soo bad, you could see shadows. The pistol barrels...

    T/C Cleland Match Rifle Value?

Like the T/C Silver Elite, the Cleland Match rifle was a limited issue. 600 I believe. I have both and won't part with either. The match rifle is my favorite when competing.

Uberti 1858 Target Model from Dixie? Uber

"Dovetailed from the front to the back and screwed in". I have one, and the durn thing is crooked too! I'll have to figure a way to straighten it out someday. It's also blued.

    36 Cal Questions

Bill, I'm assuming it's a Remington model '58. The wife had the same problem with her 36 cal.I removed the front sight and dove tailed the barrel and installed a taller sight. You could also slop on some JB weld on the front sight and file it down to the proper shape(but taller) and adjust as...

    Nice Little File

Like MSW, I like those chainsaw files as well. I bought two of all the different sizes. Save one of each size as is, then break the other one into three pieces. I then heat each of the broken pieces and bend them into various arc/radius'. They work perfect around lock and sideplate panels...

    1:48 and Sabots

A guy at my club was telling me how wonderful sabots were and suggested I try a few shots with my T/C 1:48. He gave me ten to try. They shot all over in the 10, 9, and 8 rings. I was so disappointed, I never even tried it again. I can do tens at 25 yds with round balls and at a much lower costs...
