Already have three 54's. Happens to be my favorite caliber but don't need another.

Suggest giving more specs tho. Like barrel length, weight, length of pull and barrel diameter across the flats.

Good luck with your sale of a great lookin rifle

I thought that the plains rifles had one barrel key and Hawkens had two? Am I wrong?

Jerry
Plains Rifle is a generic term used to describe all the half stock rifles that look like a Hawken style, but are not Hawken rifles.

It's a show of respect for the originals.

This is just my highly prejudiced personal opinion!

Withdraw this post and re-list it for at least $1500.

When it comes to accuracy, Sharon Rifle Barrel Co. Hawken rifles are neck & neck with tbose produced by Green River Rifle Works.

"Back in the day" my .54 cal Sharon Hawken and I placed in front of GRRW Hawken shooters on a regular basis. Don't get me wrong, once-in-a-while one of those guys would win too.

My plinking load was 75gr FFg Goex. My most accurate load (also my hunting load), was 107gr FFg Goex pushing a .530 pure lead hand-cast, patched with .017 pillow ticking, and lubed with saliva. Off of the bench, I could (more often than not) print five shots touching at 100 yards.

Your Sharon Hawken should sell for way more than $1,000.
