There used to be a pretty regular posting fella here with the screen name Roundball. He did some testing with roundballs of other materials besides lead. He was from North Carolina if I remember. And he coined the term "whompability" Anyone know what happened to him?

I always enjoyed his posts. I don’t think I’ve seen him on here in like 10 years?

Gentlemen. I am not sure but I think he passed. I used to communicate with him about many things. He used to frequent this forum, American longrifles and the Muzzleloader magazine Campfire forum.

Roundball experimented with many different non-lead projectiles. You may can do a search for his posts.

He has been missed,
DanL

He got fed-up with the goings on here at the forum back in 14-15` or so an left, he drifted around a few other forums too for awhile.
He was quit the character,, he's is/was about the best source for T/C information/knowledge of all kinds available.
Stubborn, he had a penchant for olde school methods (and some it myth) that ya just couldn't break .
He killed alot of North Carolina deer, but never ate one,, he always gave'm to the "needy family down the road".

I usually drift back and forth between forums like many others. I was just wondering because I enjoyed Roundballs posts. Another member who posted some real great photos was Greentmnboy. I know he hasnt been around. But i think I saw a video of a Montana muzzleloading shoot about 18 months and it sure looked like him.

cant say I blame him....

Roundball hasn’t been around since 2018..
Supposedly he got more involved in shooting with a camera than a muzzleloader…

GMB, I’m almost certain appeared in a couple of scenes on the show “Into the wild frontier“ , this last season..

He did move to Montana i recall. He lived near Gunnison CO. Lived somewhat off the grid. Neede to snowmobile in and out during winter.

He took his elk every year with his 50 cal and ball. Always seemed to have a hole through the heart.

I remember conversing with Roundball some years ago. I think his name is Bill (?). Yes, he knew T/C rifles as well as anyone.

Believe they were North Carolina deer that he was taking…. I believe I have his email address, but it’s been 10 years or so since there was any communication.
If that's who I think it is, I heard some real iffy stuff at rendezvous
Some truth to that statement. Have heard real iffy stuff about most everyone with an opinion that has been around for awhile.

Maybe I'm tired,
your absolutely correct. Thanks for the assist.
I guess it just proves we (the mods) really ARE human...😄
Eterry your & your fellow Moderators contributions to this form are much appreciated :ThankYou:

Having been an active ML shooter & BP mechanic for over 60 years & presently way over-the-hill I've found many of us old farts can be somewhat hardheaded old-schoolers & opinionated in our efforts to offer help to those with less experience.
That being said,,, I have learned a few excellent gunsmithing tips from a few much younger forum members :thumb:
Great forum !!!
