what bullet or bullet patch combo would work in a 1 in 10 twist muzzleloader rifle or would any bullet work in such a fast twist

You ain't using a patch with that twist unless it's paper. Something around 250 or heavier grease groove bullet is what you're looking for
I dont know anything about paper patches do you wrap a paper and lube around a conical of 100 or more grains as the 32-20 pistol bullet for example . Also I dont think you can get a 250 grain bullet that small diameter can you

I shoot a 210gr bullet out of a .32 with a 1 in 14 twist. With a 1 in 10" you're going to have to go beyond black powder speeds . I use a 170gr in 1 in 18 twist.

I have an under hammer pistol made with a piece of P-14 barrel. The twist is 1:10. Mine also has a scope.

It does not shoot balls well at all.

With 20+ grains 3F it shoots cast bullets 150+ grains, into one hole at 25 yards. I saved a piece of the barrel and made a size die for the cast bullets. The cast bullets are mechanically fitted to the barrel and lubed with SPG. That makes sense, I re invented the 30-30.

Unfortunately, I was hoping for a low power target pistol. If Green Mountain was still making barrels for us I'd buy a 32-20 blank.

I got a 32 ML blank from them a few years ago for another project. The rifling has narrow deep grooves. I doubt it will shoot accurately.

I haven't tried it so I don't know but I suspect you might have trouble getting the bullet started into the bore straight. That's why the old timers used a false muzzle. I wonder if a coned muzzle would work for shooting bullets? It would be an interesting thing to try. My .45 is coned but the twist is 66" so a long bullet wouldn't work.

A long bullet will work in such a slow twist, but you need to add a lot of powder.

Try a lower charge (12-15 grains) when shooting roundball.
I did that, no charge is accurate with patched balls.

No false muzzle is needed. The long cast bullets are sized in a sizer made of the same parent barrel. They load with thumb pressure and no wiggle. They are a perfect match to the barrel.

Your targets will show if the bullet is loaded perpendicular with the axis of the bore. In accurate target rifles such things make a big difference.
