I'm going to be getting up Kibler 50 cal Colonial rifle kit in a week or so and I just wanted to get people's opinion on them that either have them or have had them in the past. I don't want opinions on who I should get it from instead or anything like that I just want input from people who either have them or have had them.
Thanks in advance.

I have one and it is great. 100% happy. mine is in 54. Mark/WI
Yeah I pretty much hear nothing but good about them. I can't wait I'm just waiting to sell my Lyman Great Plains rifle and then I'll order it.

Amazing they are... building the SMR currently as well. You can't go wrong, period.

I'll let the images speak for themselves, any questions feel free to ask!

I was looking at one of there guns. A colonial 58 cal. I did watch his videos on youtube. There is very good fitted parts in his kits. No sloopy lock inlets like tvm. Kibler uses cnc mach to do the inletting. Very tight looking fitting parts. Looks like a first time builder would look like a pro putting his kit toghter. Heres a pic of tvm lock inletting i seen many this way. No offense but looks like they used a hatchet to do there inleting.FB_IMG_1546908835604.jpg

In all fairness, if the TVM was bought as a kit, they have no way of controlling what is done to the inletting.

Jim's kits are fabulous. BUT, it is possible to turn 1000 bucks worth of parts into a 500 dollar gun, so go slow, watch his videos, and you will be fine.

I completed my .50 Kibler Colonial Rifle just a couple of weeks ago, and I successfully took a button buck with it just last week (2 days after finishing the build).

The kit is absolutely amazing, and of incredibly high quality. I a, very pleased with how mine came out, considering it was my first kit rifle I’ve built. I think it may be the ideal kit for a first timer, based on how well the inletting is for all of the metal parts (lock, trigger guard & plate, butt plate, nose cap, etc.).

I think you’re going to be very happy with it!

Crewdawg, Can I ask what you used for finishing the hardware and barrel?

Scoper: If you sell your GPR next week, I am afraid you are not going to get your Kibler quite that quick. You might want to check his availability times. They are a great kit from what I have seen so a wait time for delivery is well worth it.

Just sayin.....

Actually I talked to him and he said that he was just getting a shipment of Barrels in so I would be able to probably get the kit in about a week or two after ordering. Unfortunately though life happened so I ended up having to spend a little money elsewhere so I'm probably just going to put it off until tax return time.

I just finished my .54 Kibler colonial. Amazing kit, you will not find any better. Mine was fancy maple and I got it in about 5 weeks.
